As Datacomms Engineer you will be reporting to the Technical Director as part of the MOD Systems Engineering Department providing support on all types of data communications from email through to complex computer networks.
As Datacomms Engineer you will be providing installation and commission resource across MOD and Government systems.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include
- Assisting MOD System engineering with product & services evaluation consistent with the Company strategy based on requirements from Sales, Marketing, management, etc or self generated.
- Supporting MOD Systems Engineering projects through lifecycle, design, prototype, build, install, integration and testing.
- Carry out verification of design solutions, through testing as advised by the systems engineering manager •
- Providing assistance to the projects’ office for any escalated faults.
- Provide training on terminals as required, for bespoke solutions
Experience required
- Educated to BSc or equivalent in IT/Communications Systems or relevant subject
- Satcom terminal experience required (DVB/Inmarsat)
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Awareness of MoD systems and requirements
- Broad IT & Network skills required,
- Broad knowledge of Network installation required
- Be eligible for DV Security clearance
