New year, new start

Most of us are pleased to see the back of 2020 and had hoped that by the start of 2021 we would have seen the back of the COVID virus or at least a return to some form of normality.  However, with continued restrictions to our daily lives, it is so easy to feel down and unmotivated.

Many will make new years resolutions which will bite the dust by the middle of January as we are far too hard on ourselves or set ourselves impossible goals. Far easier to break down your goals into smaller bite size, short term aims to get us to where we would like to be.

For those who know me,  you will know how I talk about using a piece of paper and pen to help solve any problems or work out what you want to do next. I believe that seeing what you are looking to achieve written down somehow helps makes sense of what you are trying to achieve, or helps you realise what it is you want, rather than the information running around in your head, driving you crazy.

In 2020 many of us learnt so much about ourselves. It has shown us what we are capable of, or what we need support with – after all we can’t be good at everything, every single one of us has different strengths and weaknesses – wouldn’t it be a boring world if we were all the same?

If you are considering a new career opportunity or even change your career path entirely, we will be putting together a series of tips over the next few weeks to help you on your way. Look out for:

  • How to stay motivated when searching for work
  • How to go about changing your career
  • Redundancy – what next
  • How to make your CV stand out

In the meantime, visit our website www.bluestreamrecruitment.co.uk/candidates for tips to help you on your way.
