As Technical Support Engineer you will be part of a leading global satellite networks service provider as part of their continued growth.

As Technical Support Engineer you will report to the Customer Support & NOC Manager, and delivering 1st and 2nd line technical support on products, service and billing enquiries, including

  • Managing responses to customer inquiries, replying promptly and efficiently
  • Providing 2nd line technical support and customer service for all technical service issues, across a multitude of technical solutions
  • Proactively monitoring the GCSC networks, investigate alarms, issue outage reports, act on high usage alerts and resolve any and all service issues
  • Carrying out IP traffic analysis, investigate routing and switching faults across both local and remote infrastructure, including Wireless standards (802.11x etc).
  • Carrying out RF analysis and interpret satellite link statistics to help resolve satellite related problems and to provide ad hoc network reports as requested by both internal and external customers.


To be considered for the  Technical Support Engineer role, you will:

  • Have good level of education, ideally BSc level or equivalent
  • Have previous commercial Customer Service and/or Network Operation experience
  • Have Inmarsat and/or VSAT operational, service or technical experience
  • Have in-depth technical knowledge of
    • Inmarsat Satellite Maritime customer equipment
    • Seatel and T&T VSAT equipment
    • Inmarsat Land mobile systems including BGAN’s Iridium and Thuraya& GX
  • Have practical experience of IP networking (CCNA / JNCIA etc)
  • Have ability to absorb and retain knowledge of company product and services to fault find and explain over the phone how products work
  • Must be eligible for SC Security clearance
