Security Technician

Job Description

Fabulous opportunity for an experienced Security Technician to join leading global satellite networks service provider as part of their continued growth.

As Security Technician you will be part of a passionate and supportive international team.

As Security Technician you will report to the Security Engineer, whilst ensuring the security of the company and customers networks, together with

  • Monitoring and collating information from security monitoring tools to provide an accurate view of the current security threats for both company and customer networks
  • Installing, configuring and supporting customer security networks
  • Working alongside the internal support team to ensure all networks are secure from threats and cyber attacks
  • Testing, rolling out and installing of new security products and services
  • Assisting in the through life security of both internal and external customer networks and systems including testing for vulnerabilities and recommending improvements from a cyber security perspective
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and internally for problem resolution ensuring that customer networks are running securely and efficiently
  • Assisting in SLA security reporting

 

To be considered for the Security Technician role, you will

  • Be educated to BSc or equivalent in relevant technical subject
  • Have proven technical ability with strong commercial multi-network exposure including hands-on experience supporting secure networks including at least two of the following
  • Cisco Firewalls, Routers, Switches
  • Juniper platforms
  • Windows and Linux server configuration
  • SIEM Tools
  • IDS/IPS
  • Be able to communicate network security issues to peers and management
  • Be able to take responsibility, be proactive, organized and independently deliver results on both departmental and business projects.
  • Have excellent customer support skills and ability to interact with customers both on the phone and in meetings.
  • Be able to diagnose complex faults, document, communicate and follow up corrective actions
  • Be able to absorb and quickly gain knowledge of company’s bespoke products and services.
  • Be eligible for DV security clearance
